Happy 1st Birthday, Kolton!

We celebrated Kolton's 1st Birthday this past weekend!

It's been a while....

It's been a while since our last post.  Not much has gone on, though.

Sweet Xeyva has been adopted!  We have also decided that it's best for our little Paco that we no longer foster.  We will continue to help out Mutts N Stuff in other ways - so you won't see many pictures of cute little puppies needing names on here.  :(

We are gearing up for the Holiday season and trying to stay warm!  We even went and got a real tree this year!

I got the tree started.

Jeff decided to finish it up for me.

I had him carry it - didn't want to drag it all the way!

It looked much bigger out in the field.  But, now we know what to look for next year!  Maybe I'll be better with the saw by then too.  :)

Sweet Girl Xeyva!

"Unnamed boy" ended up being named Ralphie.  Unfortunately, he had to cross to the Rainbow Bridge shortly after I posted about him.

We welcomed Xeyva (pronounced Zee-va) into the house on Saturday.  She's a bit timid, but Paco is trying his very best to get her to come out of her shell and he's doing a very good job!

Pumpkins!!

Jeff left his pumpkin outside last fall and eventually moved it off of the porch to a spot in the yard where I normally plant flowers every spring.  Well, he tilled up the spot so that I could plant the flowers I bought but before I could plant any flowers, we noticed that there was something else coming up out of the ground.  Now, we have a HUGE pumpkin plant growing in front of our house!  It gets bigger everyday!

It started off as just one little plant.  Now I think we need to put up some little fencing so that it doesn't grow across the sidewalk and block the front steps!

This is the 1st pumpkin I found - it's on the sidewalk and very small.

This is the 2nd pumpkin I found.  It's much bigger than the 1st one.

A better shot of the 2nd pumpkin.

The beginning of another pumpkin!  There were a few like this - where the pumpkin was just beginning to grow.  I don't know much about pumpkins, but hopefully we will have some nice orange pumpkins this fall!  IF we can keep all the critters out of them - if you have any ideas, please let me know!

Sharkey (the Shredder!)

Meet Sharkey - the newest foster at the Schmidt household!  He's a handsome little guy and is a GREAT pup!  The top 3 pictures are from the day we brought him home and the last 2 are from Friday!
